The main reflection I have as I complete this exercise is just how 'bitty' this module seems to have been. Looking back it feels disjointed and incongruous. Each of the sections was looking at different aspects. This makes sense for the overall summative goal of the module, but at the same time, it didn't really encourage me to be prolific in pursuit of the exercises and assignments. Compared with previous modules, I just don't feel like I have created a lot. In fact, I feel like my skills have atrophied in many ways. I have barely used a sketchbook, for example.
Going through my work and my logs, I tried to pull on the thread that started to emerge through the module. This is normally the exact process for identifying a portfolio to submit for Assessment, so almost feels superfluous at this stage given I still have a whole section of work to create. But in that, it's also successful. It still feels like there are gaps somehow, and that is something I can work on in part five to try and tie things (and my learning journey) together. That way, when it comes to the actual Assessment, I will hopefully have a clearer story to tell with my work.
Here are the ten pieces I have identified so far:
There has been a good overall exploration of the digital space, and experimentation with how photography can be interwoven into the process of creation. I am not sure if photography adds or detracts from my work. My instinct is that it feeds the wolf of perfectionism, rather than the wolf of free expression. I see a sense of humour going through the work, like a smirk - cheeky but sincere. I think that is a key part of the Spindrift persona, and something I should lean into.
